Years ago, a friend of mine said to me “Tom, no one is ever as bad or as good as you think they are.” This stuck with me, and I also hoped people would think that of me, too. Recently, when the Charlie Kirk murder happened, it came to the surface of my mind again. I did some searches on its origin, but the closest I could find was the Ancient Stoics.
